SFV: Arcade Edition - Hitbox/Hurtbox Excrement (Turn on CC option please)
Turn on closed Caption for written commentary. The more I play, the more bullcrap I see. The randomness, inconsistencies, and poor hitboxes/hurtboxes make for a frustrating experience. Its very hard to take this game as serious as I'd like to. I've never been a fan of cross ups, as it is visually unappealing, but understand how they work. What good is a headstomp when it doesn't work when the boots touch the head? Save the "get good/gud" comments. These visuals are undeniable.
I expect better quality. Why do people accept this type of programming as king? I know cross-ups are a long-standing staple of the franchise, but in my OPINION: they're dumb. They originated from old/limited programming. This is a fighting game simulator, at least most of it should apply some sort of logic. An aerial stomp, especially an "EX" version should not be beaten by someone's head. He's wearing combat boots for cryin' out loud.
I may be putting too much thought into it, however when playing a fight simulator, the attacking limb should make contact in order to register a hit. Or am I crazy for thinking so. Technology is too good to have these caveman hiccups.
