Want to learn how to play Rainbow Mika but don't know where to start? Confused by all the combo videos and waffle? Don't know how to PEACH good? Well this is the tutorial for you!

In this tutorial I cover what I believe are the core beginner combos to learn before going on to learn the more difficult hit-confirms and link combos. I also cover a primer to Intermediate Combos, punishing, jump-ins, anti-airs, dealing with fireballs and command throw set-ups!

*SHORTCUTS*
The HCB motion used for command throws has a shortcut; df d db b or df QCB. Good to know but probably won't be used that often.

*V-SKILLS & V-TRIGGERS*
I would recommend beginners use V-Skill 1 as V-Skill 2 is a parry and therefore is an advanced level technique. V-Skill 1 also provides a little anti-fireball tech. Both V-Skills buff damage and stun to all command throws (Rainbow Typhoon, Brimstone, Wingless Airplane and Critical Art). VS1 has several levels of buffs where VS2 will get the buff after successful parry.
I would probably recommend beginners use V-Trigger 1 over V-Trigger 2 as it is a little easier to use and is a 2-bar instead of 3-bar VT. Both VTs can have some tricky setups to defend against when you hold down HP+HK.

*COMMAND THROWS*
Mika has a couple of command throws (excluding air throw and CA). As mentioned in the video Rainbow Typoon has better range and damage but poor positioning (barring throwing them into the corner) whereas Brimstone has weaker range and damage but is perfect for continuing pressure. As a beginner I would simply use Rainbow Typhoon to maximize damage and when you start learning about positioning and pressure incorporate Brimstone into your game plan. Be sure to use your command throws to put the fear of God into your opponent!
H version - high damage, low range
M version - mid damage, mid range
L version - low damage, high range
EX version - most damage & range

*METER USAGE*
I would not use meter for extra damage as the little isn't worth it and save it for when you want armour on EX Shooting Peach, if you need the extra range for command throws or for the odd combo where you need to use meter to complete the juggle.

I think Rainbow Mika is my favourite character in this game. She was my main for a while until new characters came out, it's interesting to see how much things have changed (even for basic combos) since season 1!

Any questions about the video, combos, character, game, etc. please leave a commentand I'll do my best to answer! :)

Karin is next for a re-visit!
