Welcome back to my coverage for the SHC 2020.

This time we are playing something very impressive for all being in the Sonic Mania engine because we are playing through DOOM the first person shooter originally released for MS DOS in 1993 by id Software.

TheStoneBanana and his team have now put the iconic FPS inside Sonic Mania, by default the game found in here is the ShareWare version that people back then could get for free so it consists of only the first episode. (if I'm not mistaken if that is the case please correct me in the comments)
But if you own a version of the original DOOM, DOOM II, THE ULTIMATE DOOM, FINAL DOOM, or CHEX QUEST you can put in those to be able to play with your own WADS or the one you got with this mod which changes DOOM guy into Sonic the Hedgehog.

This is the first time I have played DOOM since I'm not the biggest FPS fan.

INSTALLATION

As the installation floppies state, playing the "DOOM in Sonic Mania" mod is as simple as extracting the provided .ZIP file and selecting the mod from the Sonic Mania Mod Loader. Due to the extent of the modifications, you should run the mod by itself for ensured stability. It may be compatible with other Mania mods, but that's not a guarantee as some changes may overlap and cause conflicts.

Your favorite DOOM user content goes into the "wads" folder in the mod's root. Included in this package is a custom, Sonic player WAD for you to play as a bonus! Please note that, as with vanilla DOOM, user content will not work with the provided shareware copy of the game. You must use a registered copy of the game. Them's the rules.

Left - Turn/strafe left
Right - Turn/strafe right
A - Use weapon
B - Strafe toggle
X - Run
Y - Use item
B and Y held, Up pressed - Cycle weapon up
B and Y held, Down pressed - Cycle weapon down
Start - Pause/open menu
