This time we play through: Sonic Essence - First Splash

Unlike anything else you download from the SHC website this isn't a rom or mod for another game this is its own executable so you need to make that accessible to yourself.

"NOTE: Unlike other projects using the RSDK decompilation, Sonic Essence does not use any Sonic 1 or Sonic 2 assets. Thus, the exe and all necessary files to run the game are included. All you need to do is install the download below and play it from its included exe.

Months after Dark Gaia almost destroyed the world, Sonic gets an urgent transmission from Tails: Eggman and his mechs are back. Only this time, he's an even bigger threat to the world with his new ultimate power source: The Soul Sapphire. Its energy allows the essence of life itself to be drained and used in his diabolical machines. His ultimate plan? To destroy the Chaos Emeralds once and for all and take the chaos energy for himself. With the world in danger once again, Sonic does what he does best: Run. It’s all up to him to find the Chaos Emeralds and stop the Doctor’s plans!

Sonic Essence is an original 2D Modern Sonic adventure built with the Retro Engine V4 Decompilation. It features completely original sprites, levels, badniks, and an all-new soundtrack featuring remixes and original compositions! This project aims to push the potential of Retro Engine (V4) modding to show the fresh and new experiences the decompilation can offer!

This demo includes Sonic's intro stage (Windmill Isle) and the first stage of his story (Seaside Splash 1 and 2). Sonic can utilize the air dash, light speed dash, stomp and wall jump to traverse these dangerous landscapes. You can also test your skill in the Time Attack to try and claim those S ranks!"
