Shin Megami Tensei 5 Optional Boss: Oni
3You'll probably find this guy on your way to Eligor. He's a very straightforward boss but he has a lot of HP and bulk for this early.
His damage isn't too bad at least he shouldn't ever one shot you but he takes a while to bring down even with his weaknesses.
Also he's very weak to confusion and I'm glad status effects actually work on boss fights in this game.
Also I'm gonna ruin this for everyone by pointing out Oni's entire sidequest is the Mr Light Plot line from the disney town portion of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep.
After winning the fight we don't actually kill Oni he just runs off so we console him a bit for the actual quest reward.
A word to the wise. If you are fighting this boss before Eligor than for the love of God go back to the save point and heal up. Eligor can and will one shot you if he gets a Crit and even without that he's a fairly dangerous boss. I know the Anor Londo level runback may be annoying but having all progress since your last save including beating this boss erased because of an unlucky critical hit would be far more annoying... heheh heheh heheh
