If only there were more Genesis/Megadrive games with such quality and attention to detail. Some of the best visuals in a non-Sonic game, the graphics almost look like SNES (despite the limited palette), and the tunes, like its prequel, are really good. There are some frustrating spots of course, this is a Shinobi tradition. Like the previous game (Revenge of Shinobi), the major flaw is the double jump - it requires PERFECT timing, and it can betray the player in certain key spots like boss battles and some platforming sections.
