"Shooting Range" is a light gun video game published by Bandai in 1989 for the NES. Gameplay adheres to the standard zapper mechanics: enemies appear, and you shoot them. You utilize the D-Pad on a connected controller to shift your viewpoint left and right, enabling you to pursue any enemies or targets that may have escaped your notice. It has support of up to 4 players.

However, rather than targeting the sprites directly, you aim at the pinwheels near their bodies. Your shots are unlimited. Following each stage, a scoreboard displays your ranking. You have a life bar, and missing shots depletes it. There's also a timer, but it's very generous, making time depletion unlikely. Occasionally, shooting enemies yields extra health or time extensions. There's a diverse array of environments, ranging from a graveyard to the moon, adds to its allure.

There's also a Party Mode, which is essentially a mini-game featuring pinwheels. This time, they emerge from a machine, reminiscent of whack-a-mole. This mode maintains a brisk pace and goes on until the 250 second timer has ended.

Some stages feature swift movements that pose a challenge, but it's still not overly difficult. Both the Normal mode and the Party mode offers entertainment, and with friends, it's an even more enjoyable experience, suggesting that Bandai crafted this game with social gatherings in mind. There are only 3 stages and a bonus stage, though.
