Notable differences and similarities. In Star Citizen, for gameplay reasons, planets are 1/10 of real life, moons are 1/6, and stars are 1 to 1. In Elite Dangerous, everything is 1:1. As of Elite Dangerous's latest expansion odyssey, update 5, both games use hand made assets/geography with procedural generation, the difference being is that in Star Citizen, every planet is individually "painted", while elite dangerous uses a handful of pre-made terrain/texture, and is randomly placed and resized, which has caused a lot of repetition with planets
