157Your video is too dark. I will show you how to make it brighter. Download, install and start the free video editor Shotcut. Select a folder for your project. Give it a name. Click Start. Make sure you have your playlist open. Drag your dark video into the playlist. You can also include other video files. I am adding some music. Drag the video to the timeline. Right-click and select "Add audio track". Drag the music to the track. So far everything is OK but the video is too dark.
We need to add a so-called filter to the video. Here, "filter" means "effect". The words have the same meaning here. Hit the Escape button to de-select everything. Then, make sure you only highlight the video. Click on the Filter Tab. To add a filter, you must click the Plus button. Type in the word Color. Select the Color Grading filter. Adjust these two sliders. It will make the shadows and mid-tones less dark. There are no best numbers here. You just have to experiment with different values. Tada! The darkness has been lifted.
