With the success of Expedition 33 it does bring up a good question as whether Final Fantasy as a franchise could benefit from going back to the turn based formula and making the combat more engaging. Because some of the most liked/loved games in series have been in this era of turn based combat and that the combat in question is what has defined the various eras of Final Fantasy.
