In this #Shorts video I discuss if you should buy a pre-built gaming PC or if you should build your own custom gaming PC. The answer may surprise you.

While this is not a full tutorial or gaming PC buying guide; it does provide some very valuable information. The information contained in this video is similar to what you may see on channels like JayzTwoCents, Bitwit, and Linus Tech Tips. This is a tips and tricks video that provides valuable information for PC Gamers, PC custom builders, and console gamers looking to get into PC gaming for the first time.

I had the honor of building my own custom gaming PC back in 2019. Since then, I have modified the gaming PC several times and upgraded the CPU from the AMD Ryzen 3800x to the AMD Ryzen 5800x. I also upgraded the GPU from the AMD Radeon 5700xt to the Nvidia Geforce RTX 3070 Founders Edition.

I normally always recommend you build your own gaming PC. This is because it is important to understand how all the components within your system work. However, in a world filled with graphics card shortages, what do we do? Well, the fortunate thing about companies that have contracts for Pre-Built PCs is they can get the GPUs that no one else can. Therefore, it is possible to get a new gaming PC with the latest and greatest GPUs and CPUs from AMD, Intel, and Nvidia without paying scalper prices on Ebay, Amazon, and the Facebook marketplace. It will still be expensive but it will be a much more reasonable price given current market conditions.

With that being said, which company should you buy your pre-built gaming PC from? Well, there are many companies to choose from. And each company has it's pros and cons. However, my number one recommendation time and time again is NZXT. NZXT has proven to consistently have stock of the latest and greatest PC parts. Furthermore, they do a great job of building the gaming PC without error. The delivery time is reasonable and fair. The only reason I can truly recommend NZXT is because my cousin is a teacher and needed a new computer. However, she could not afford to pay scalper prices and she really wanted to build her own PC. However, when she called me I had to explain the current situation with the GPU shortage. She then became open to buying a pre-built PC. I was able to find the gaming PC she wanted within her price range from NZXT. The PC arrived to her home and was in great working condition. She is fully satisfied and has zero complaints. I am super happy as she is my family and I want her to be okay and treated fairly.

For those wondering, no this is NOT a sponsored ad. Have you seen my subscriber count? Lol, no one would ever sponsor me right now. This is true and authentic real world experience.

I also have a horror story of a Pre-Built system. One of my close friends was switching to PC gaming from console gaming. More specifically, he was upgrading from the original Xbox One. He ordered a Pre-Built gaming PC from Best Buy. When it arrived, the fans were not fully connected and the RGB was not working. I had to go over to his house and provide tech support for him.

This is exactly why I always recommend building your own PC. So that way you become educated on how the process works. When something breaks, you can then fix it yourself instead of calling someone. But given our current market conditions, we really don't have many options. Therefore, I recommend buying a Pre-Built gaming PC from a reputable company like NZXT.
