The game is set in the Pacific Northwest of the United States, two years after a devastating global pandemic has turned most of humanity into "Freakers," zombie-like creatures. The player takes on the role of Deacon St. John, a former outlaw biker who is now a bounty hunter, struggling to survive in this new world. Deacon's main goal is to find a way to escape the region and find a rumored safe haven, but he also becomes embroiled in a variety of other conflicts and missions along the way.
The game also has a lot of emphasis on survival mechanics. There are a lot of resources that the player has to gather to survive including crafting and upgrading their weapons and gear, scavenging for supplies and healing items. This adds an extra layer of realism to the game and makes the player feel like they are truly struggling to survive in this post-apocalyptic world.
In conclusion, Days Gone is a well-crafted and engaging post-apocalyptic action-adventure game that offers players a vast open-world to explore, a wide variety of gameplay mechanics, and a compelling story with complex characters. The game's survival elements, dynamic weather, and day-night cycle, and the player's relationship with NPCs all add to the realism and immersion of the game world, making it a must-play for fans of the genre.

To begin with, this game is a magnificent piece of art! I fell in love with this game and there are a lot of aspects which has given me such a strong opinion of this. The game setting is brilliant. It is a carefully crafted open world game where the side quests, although similar, are not repetitive enough to bore you. The map has a diverse landscape, from the rocky terrains of the Hot Springs to the dark woods of Cascade and then the beautiful serenity of Lost Lake. You also have the snow capped mountains once you head down south.

Days Gone is a reminder that a bad launch does not have to be the end of the road for a video game. Bend Studio managed to take Days Gone and prove that it was a masterpiece in the making that had, perhaps, been revealed to the world a little prematurely. Days Gone is definitely one of the best games I've ever played in my life that I will always look back with fondness. It is a beautifully crafted story of love and hope in a world where those things are scarce, set in an unforgivingly dark yet bewitchingly picturesque world. Again, it's not perfect, I could write an essay on it's flaws, but I could write a novel on it's strengths and I will always look back fondly at Days Gone for that.
