Show of the EEK! (Because Halloween) ft. Resident Evil HD Remastered
Show of the Week revisits classic survival horror Resident Evil HD Remastered for a blast of spooky nostalgia with a next-gen visual spitshine. Also: costume advice. Happy Halloween, video watchers!
We were frankly bowled over by just how good Resident Evil HD Remastered looks. Graphically, this next-gen revamp holds its own among the current crop of Xbox One games; although the fixed camera angles feel archaic, you can't fault the stunningly atmospheric rendered backgrounds, reproduced in crisp HD. It is a shame the HD remasterers also smoothed out the more lovably eccentric lines of dialogue for the Gamecube version, on which this remaster is based. You will just have to bellow "Jill sandwich" at the screen yourself at the appropriate moment.
Resident Evil HD Remastered footage was captured on PS4 because that was the version supplied by Resident Evil publisher Capcom.
Resident Evil HD Remastered comes out on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, PS3 and PS4 in 2015.
