This is Fortress Machinery. This is a very elaborate 3D World level that's incredibly high on difficulty.

5YMM/6YMM has been a good inspiration for me to create a level such as this. It's because of those unique and creative level ideas that fueled my desire to create something that is somewhat similar to those amazing levels but not on the same magnitude and quality. It took me a month of designing AND playtesting to create this. Furthermore, a lot of 5YMM/6YMM levels I played are also super expert levels, which is why I was aiming for setting up a higher difficulty for this level. I'll be honest with you: I enjoy making hard levels since the SMM1 days. 🙂

There was also a silly boss concept that I've had in mind for a long time now, and I wanted to try it for this level, since I had a feeling the boss battle is going to be tough anyway. Designing that boss room was fun. It's something that worked well with the locked screen thanks to custom auto scroll. And it's also an insanely difficult boss fight that matches well with the difficulty of the entire level.

The entire level is mainly an endurance test. Clearing this ordeal without dying is an absolute nightmare. There are no kaizo stunts involved in here. I can always create different types of hard levels that won't require any shell jumps of sorts.

The level thumbnail is a metal gear. Not Metal Gear Solid! It's a mechanical gear! I picked something that could represent the parts of a machine to represent what this level is all about. I didn't choose the head of a robot. However, the gear in the thumbnail looks very vivid & colorful. It's like the gear is from parts of a Lego Technic assembly kit, heh..

And let's not forget to mention the bonus. This level is heavily inspired by 5YMM/6YMM that's why I had the pleasure of adding my very own cake room which is a little bonus reward for achieving something incredible in this level, and that's what you will witness in this video. 😄
