SIGIL (DOOM) Review (Another John Romero masterpiece?)
831After many months of anticipation, John Romero's brand new DOOM episode has finally arrived. But is it actually any good? Watch and find out!
A few extra thoughts:
- I enjoyed the episode's recurring themes like the "shootable eye" triggers, hellish cracks, and baphomet-wall exits; they helped give it a strong identity
- E5M4's "Crusher Maze" has gotten a lot of flak from the community, but I didn't have much of a problem with it; I like that it slows down the pace and presents an interesting puzzle to solve in order to proceed
- The ending felt a little anticlimactic; I intentionally left out footage of E5M8 in order to avoid spoilers, but I felt the WAD could've used a more clever and exciting finale
