Silent Hill 2 is a psychological horror video game developed by Konami and released in 2001. It’s the second main entry in the Silent Hill series but is not a direct sequel—it tells a standalone story centered around grief, guilt, and psychological trauma.
You play as James Sunderland, a man who receives a mysterious letter from his deceased wife, Mary, asking him to meet her in the fog-shrouded town of Silent Hill, a place they once visited together. Confused and emotionally fragile, James travels there in search of answers. As he explores the eerie, deserted town, James encounters other troubled characters—each seemingly drawn to Silent Hill by their own inner torment.
