المؤثرات البصرية والجرافيكس
اللعبة رائعة بمعنى الكلمة، فأصوات الوحوش وان كانت شبيهة بالبقر والزومبي كما في ريزدنت إيفل ولكن شركة كونامي استطاعت أن تشعرك بالخوف، والاثارة والسيطرة على أعصابك، ففي الجزء الأخير من اللعبة سيضطر للسير مع فتاة ويتوجب عليك حمايتها فبالإضافة لكونها فتاة ضعيفة، فهي ستكون بصحة خطرة بالإضافة لوجود شخص سيطلق عليك النار دائما وفي كل مكان تذهب اليه (في الجزء الأخير من اللعبة) مما سيضفي المزيد من التشويق والاثارة. با نسبة للموسيقى فهي رائعة وعالية الجودة، موسيقى مرعبة ومخيفة جدا أثناء اللعب، وحتى في المشاهد تخبرك بطريقة فريدة وممتازة بما قد يحدث، مما يجعلك تشعر بالخوف والقلق. لعبة ممتازة من ناحية الموسيقى. وايضا لديها دور ثاني. انها تشعرك با الخطر قبل الحدوث فيه أي قبل الوصول اليه وهدا دور مهم في العاب الرعب كلها.

التحكم
التحكم رائع جدا. في اللعبة حيث أن بطل اللعبة يمشي مشيا بطيئة قليلا، الشيء الذي يعطي واقعية أثناء اللعب، عكس بعض الألعاب الذي يكون البطل يملك سرعة مبالغ فيها مما يفقد اللعبة الكثير.. أما الشخصية التي ستلعب بها في اللعبة Silent Hill 4 : The RooM , يركض ببطئ وحركات واقعية جدا، لتشعر بأنك تركض بنفسك فعلا، وحتى طريقة ضرب تلك الكلاب والمسوخ والوحوش حيث حمل الاشياء سهل جدا.. تكون واقعية للعبة من ناحية التحكم ممتازة.

القصة
هنري تاونسيد شاب سعيد مستقر مند سنتين في الشقة 302 ببناية متواجدة في مدينة اشفيلد جنوب سايلنت هيل، لكن سعادته هذه ستتحول إلى تعاسة، فالكوابيس بدأت تجتاح حياته كما بدأت تحدث اشياء غريبة من حوله لايستطيع ان يجد لها تفسير منطقي: تغلق النوافذ، يتعطل الهاتف والتلفاز.. ومما يزيد الأمر غرابة أنه عندما يستيقظ من نومه يجد باب الشقة قد أقفل بسلاسل وأقفال وباحكام شديد وكتب على الباب ('لاتخرج والتر!

Silent Hill 4: The Room[b] is a 2004 survival horror game developed by Team Silent, a group in Konami Computer Entertainment Tokyo, and published by Konami. The fourth installment in the Silent Hill series, the game was released in Japan in June and in North America and Europe in September. Silent Hill 4 was released for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Microsoft Windows. Its soundtrack was released at the same time. In 2012, it was released on the Japanese PlayStation Network. On October 2, 2020, it was re-released on GOG.com with patches to make it playable on Windows 10.

Unlike the previous installments, which were set primarily in the town of Silent Hill, this game is set in the southern part of the fictional city of Ashfield, and follows Henry Townshend as he attempts to escape from his locked-down apartment. During the course of the game, Henry explores a series of supernatural worlds and finds himself in conflict with an undead serial killer named Walter Sullivan.

Silent Hill 4 features an altered gameplay style with third-person navigation and plot elements taken from previous installments. Upon its release, the game received generally favorable critical reaction, and its departure from the typical features of the series received a range of reactions.


In the main levels of the game the player uses the usual third-person view of the Silent Hill series.[2] The player has a limited item inventory which can be managed by leaving unneeded items in a chest in Henry's room.[3] Silent Hill 4 emphasizes combat during gameplay, with a near-absence of complex puzzles in favor of simple item-seeking tasks.[2] Unlike previo

Characters
The protagonist and player character of Silent Hill 4 is Henry Townshend, a resident of the South Ashfield Heights Apartments building in the fictitious town of Ashfield.[11] Henry is an "average" man who has been described by Konami as an introvert in his late 20s.[1][12] For the most part Henry navigates the game's world alone, although he eventually works with his neighbor Eileen Galvin. Henry also deals with the new supporting characters of Cynthia Velasquez, Andrew DeSalvo, Richard Braintree and Jasper Gein.[13]

Silent Hill 4: The Room incorporates two unseen, minor characters from previous installments: investigative journalist Joseph Schreiber and deceased serial killer Walter Sullivan. Joseph was first referenced in Silent Hill 3 with a magazine article he has written condemning the "Hope House" orphanage run by Silent Hill's religious cult, which the game's protagonist, Heather, can discover.[14] In Silent Hill 2, Walter is referenced in a newspaper article detailing his suicide in his jail cell after his murder of two children.[15][16] Sullivan appears in two forms: an undead adult enemy and a neutral child supporting character.[17] Walter's previous victims play a small role in the game as enemies.[18]
