Simple Trick To Lower CPU Temperatures
Simple Trick To Lower CPU Temperatures
To lower CPU temperatures by adjusting power plans in Windows, you can reduce the maximum processor state or disable Turbo Boost. Specifically, you can change the "Maximum processor state" setting within your power plan to a value less than 100%, like 99%. This will prevent the CPU from reaching its maximum clock speed, reducing heat generation.
Steps to Lower CPU Temperatures through Power Plan:
1. Open Power Options: Navigate to Control Panel / Hardware and Sound / Power Options.
2. Change Plan Settings: Select the current power plan (e.g., Balanced) and click "Change plan settings".
3. Advanced Power Settings: Click "Change advanced power settings".
4. Processor Power Management: Scroll down and expand the "Processor power management" section.
5. Maximum Processor State: Locate the "Maximum processor state" setting. Change the value to 99% (or lower). You can also disable Turbo Boost here, if available.
6. Apply Changes: Click "OK" or "Apply" to save the changes.
By reducing the maximum processor state or disabling Turbo Boost, you'll prevent the CPU from reaching its maximum clock speed, which will result in lower temperatures and potentially longer CPU lifespan.
