Simplest heliostat (sun tracker) possible for solar panels in Space Engineers
I think this is the simplest tracker possible. No scripts needed, only solar panels, a pair of hinges, and a rotor set to the track the sun based on the day cycle.
A 2 hour default works out to 0.0083333 RPM (the game cuts off at 0.0083), but that appears to gain on the sun a bit, so I slowed it down to 0.008. If you have a different day length, just do the math. :)
Also, I showed the first one I made more than the second one... I think the hinge mounting on the second one makes more sense and looks nicer, but both layouts work the same.
I created another video with a simpler version, but has one limitation: If you're on a planet or moon, it must be on a pole. https://youtu.be/pNogT-n6_vU
