Sims 4 Get Off My C Drive
0Sims 4 continues as I thought this would be something someone out there may need? I HATE stuff filling up my C drive. I just assume Sims 4 or any game be on one of my many other drives. I have the Sims 4 pointing to the E drive that I can fill up instead of my C drive.
I am writing this as illegal fireworks are going off so trying to explain this the best I can - BOOM BANG cop sirens, drunk people screaming. Rural living is fun haha
I use Notepad, have for yrs and yrs and old habits are hard to break, to write out whatever code I need. Then I just copy and paste it to my command prompt.
In your search box type CMD or search for Command Prompt - run as admin. Running as an administrator gives you more options.
I then wrote down where I want my game to be placed, mine is in the E drive in my Games folder -
CODE:
MKLINK /J "C:\Users\whatever your file is named\Documents\Electronic Arts" "E:\Games\Electronic Arts"
If you have an error about the folder already being made or whatnot what you can do is go to your trash can, delete your trash, and delete the folder after the junction is made go to your trash can and Restore your folder.
All this is doing is making your computer think your game is still in the C drive when we no your game is actually in another drive......
Oh- almost forgot at the end of this video is a way to mute all the copyrighted music within your game.
