Single-player Successor to Absolver - Sifu pt.1 (2022-02-08)
0Believe it or not, my initial impression before starting up Sifu was a bit lukewarm. I was generally viewing the game through my disappointment that Absolver didn’t fare nearly as well as I’d have wanted (probably my overall favorite fighting game), and with the hope that Sifu will be successful enough to give Sloclap another shot at another PvP game with a similar style.
Now that I’ve gotten a chance to try it, I can see how well Sloclap adapted the general ideas from Absolver into a tight, well-crafted singleplayer game. The intro scenarios leading into the initial title drop did a great job of setting the tone, introducing characters, and giving the player a solid introductory tutorial (especially with how perfectly intertwined they are).
My sense of direction strikes again, but I finally get a feel for how to navigate The Squats and make some solid progress.
