Sinnerman is a new free indie Metroidvania from the Spanish developer La Figara Negra and it is infuriatingly difficult. It has excellent NES sensibilities for better and for worse. Each area is designed in such a way that if you know how to do an area you can breeze through it without taking any damage. It's incredibly well made (except for the major bugs but by the time you watch this he may have fixed them) but I think it absolutely needs more checkpoints.
This is a complete experience but the creator plans to expand on it so while it's technically a demo it doesn't leave you high and dry without a final boss.
