0What started as an impressions video ended up being a full play through. And I'm glad. The game was worth going through at least once. The last couple islands ended up being a lot easier than the earlier ones, partly due to having more resources available the second time I visited them (scanner, map), and partly because they just didn't have the enemies that the other islands did. And I don't know why.
My biggest complaints with the game are partly address already. You start with no way of dealing with the robots, putting you potentially in a cycle of "I need to explore houses to find items to deal with the robots that are by the houses preventing me from exploring them". However, you CAN choose a starting class with some weapons. No melee weapons, however, so even those will run out if you can't find another tool.
Secondly is the map generation has some issues. One of the boats to one of the side islands was in the middle of a lake, not at the shore. That's a bad spot for it. One of the fragments was off on a smaller island that was difficult to get to, and from, safely, since there's an enemy in the water that kills you if you swim for too long.
Overall? Yea, I had fun! I hoped I would, even if it's not my usual play style. Flawed, but entertaining. Worth a look, if you missed it when it came out and like this style of game. But don't expect massive amounts of content from it. It's a small game with a fun theme, and that's perfectly acceptable. -- Watch live at https://www.twitch.tv/the_nametag
