6Run commentary:
0:09 - there are three main ways the patroller Shibito will react to Shiro. This, where she runs straight up to him and strangles, is one of the slowest. So that's a small time waste.
0:19 - revolver Shibito is the first big obstacle in this route. He normally attempts to shoot at Shiro once close enough, but if you alarm him, then quickly run back and again, you fool him to do a shout instead.
The next part has some RNG in it, so I devised this tactic to get past it with best possible chance: start gliding when you approach the Shibito from the left side. After that, one of two things can happen...
- IF the Shibito starts aiming at Shiro, you are in danger, but at least are already moving past the Shibito thanks to the gliding and will only take at most one bullet from him.
- There's a chance the Shibito will start strangling Shiro instead, which ruins the glide, but after struggling free the pathway is opened so that you can just run past him instead. This is not entirely risk-free either, because there's a chance you get fatally shot afterwards.
To note: if you could do this or a similar tactic vs the revolver Shibito consistently, it would be a time save in any% RTA. Retrying at the lodge would give Shiro a wrench for dealing with the sniper in a safe way.
0:51 - since Shiro still lacks a weapon, you have to glide past the sniper too. This is, in the lack of a better word, difficult. Sometimes the sniper's or Shiro's angle can make gliding through the cramped spot almost impossible, and you only have time for one or two quick attempts before getting shot. This part could be faster by doing a more risky "blind run" towards the sniper instead of stopping and aiming your glide first, like I do on this run.
Note: don't mind the absurdly low "best time" on the video. That's a glitched time I accidentally saved a long time ago when messing around with turbo controller gliding.
