i remember seeing An Extremely Goofy Movie on disney when i was a kid and i was obsessed with wanting to learn how to skateboard. i liked how it looked, the tricks you could do with it, but unfortunately i wasn't allowed at that time, because skateboarding was for "boys". my parents bought me a scooter instead which i loved dearly despite my initial request.
after so many years of longing and dreaming to buy my own skateboard, i finally mustered up the courage to buy one last May! :'D i started out with a budget, beginner skateboard to practice cruising, turning, and learning how to balance first.
but alas, life said "oh u think it's that easy, hombre?" and gave me eczema so i couldn't walk properly and touching stuff in general made it hard and painful up until now. there were times i had blisters the size of a grape or quail egg on my feet that i wondered if the universe really didn't want me to practice riding a skateboard.
finally though, after all the months of waiting for my skin to feel slightly okay... i finally got to practice fully! :'D
thank u Michaela Gaw for capturing this very special moment for 8 yr old Claudia. she would've been jumping and running around full of joy.
