Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure - Part 02 - The Contest
0The part starts with Cornet cooking the Orange Fish for the Prince, which leaves the dilemma of getting into the Castle to give it to the Prince (despite us getting is normally in the last part).
There's a hidden path in the Graveyard, and one route which we can't take yet until much later.
The path leads to the men's toilets and the pervy Mister Golonzo who sets skeletal minions on you, before we leave back the way we came. It's a straightforward dungeon. Many others are not.
All is not lost, because the fan club next day gives us a letter with a contest to meet the Prince.
We need a special dress to woo the prince, but it appears as Etoile has bought out every dress. Though we're told the nearby woods should have some dresses.
In the woods you'll smell BBQ and decide to investigate. It becomes apparent as you move through the rooms that you're being prepared for the BBQ. The cat minions are pretty weak now. One hit will kill them. The chef should only take a couple of rounds too, but heal up before entering or during the fight for safety.
L-Kun is found in the back. He joins as with other puppets and he's pretty tanky. He's a good choice until the end of the game, but I drop him a bit later just to play with the party I want to.

In the castle the competition begins. Three rounds. You'll see Etoile's relationship with her father quite a bit here, and she pulls through in the end of this part, despite what happens.
The first round is to show off the dress, and rather nicely it's judged by how the girl expresses herself in it, and what it says about her rather than purely based on looks. Cornet wears L-Kun which is pretty funny, but creepy at the same time when he's usually there fighting alongside you.The second is combat.
The first fight is easy, but all the other contestants drop out after seeing Etoile.You lose the fight to Etoile because she brings guns and other high powered weapons (weird that you don't really see them elsewhere).
Before the final round you'll see a flashback to Cornet when she was younger, after receiving the Trumpet and how its magic works. Kururu's part in the story is revealed somewhat, and you'll see her character develop more, later.
The final round is a singing competition and Etoile's song definitely reveals more about her. Cornet's is the same song from the first part.After the contest is over they're both revealed to be the winner, and are both invited to the Prince's birthday party where they'll get a chance to meet, talk, and dance with him.
Etoile reveals another blow though. Cornet will have to be donning L-Kun again during that night for the dance.The part ends just before the party.
