This paper reflects upon the journey from CBA community archaeology training placement to university lecturer. The reflection explores how the learning opportunity offered under the Skills for the Future scheme has since shaped student learning experiences, impacted research, and developed public engagement. The paper offers an insight into the ways that skills and attributes can be transferred through personal experience and how the legacy of a single training placement can be far broader than anticipated.
