In Little Nemo: The Dream Master for the NES, there’s a fairly simple way to skip those “mandatory” conversations with elves and whatnot. It saves you a whole bunch of time AND it makes you look like a rude dude.

In some stages (such as the beginning of level one) there are NPCs who trap you into a stupid and unnecessary conversation. Basically if Nemo stands in or walks into certain areas, he’ll be approached by some character who forces you into a conversation.

But you can skip these annoying scenes with a series of well-timed (and frame perfect?) jumps.

As long as you never stand in the “conversation zone” for more than one frame, you can bypass talking to these NPCs entirely. In other words, jump, and as soon as you land, jump again and repeat this process until you’re well beyond any of these DUMB fairy things or whatever and you won’t have to TALK to anyone, which is preferable.
