SKIP the Crystal Snail Miniboss in Mega Man X2! (SNES) - A Wild Glitch Appears! #megamanx2
0In Mega Man X2 for the SNES, there are numerous ways to skip the otherwise mandatory mini boss in Crystal Snail's stage.
One of the easiest ways to perform this glitch is to charge the S. Burner ability near the beginning of the hallway that leads up to the miniboss. Release the charged S. Burner, then simply dash through the room and you can skip the fight.
If you don't have any powers or abilities, however, there is a way to bring the Ride Armor up to the mini boss chamber.
In the previous room before the hallway, make a short staircase out of the crystal cubes and climb to the top. You'll need a stack of two squares, then four squares.
Now usually, this short staircase doesn't give you enough height to jump to the ledge on the left side of the vertical shaft. However, if you stand on your crystal staircase and dash jump to the left, then repeatedly press the Jump button at the height of your jump, you can gain enough height to land on the left ledge with the Ride Armor. Then you can simply dash jump to the right to access the hallway.
Now near the beginning of the hallway, hold the Fire button to spin your spiky hands. Once your spike hands are spinning, double tap forward to dash (or press the dash button) and dash all the way toward the mini boss room. But LET GO of the fire button to release your spike punch just before you enter the room. This should give you an additional speed boost as you enter the miniboss chamber.
If you did it right, the mini boss will never engage, and you can walk past him. Alternatively, fighting him with the ride armor is kind of fun!
