Today we focus on finishing up the dungeon of Volskygge and with it the Alteration Ritual Spell quest. Last time we left off pretty near the end, so we press on to the final boss. Volskygge is unique in that the final boss of the dungeon is not in fact the dragon priest, but in this case a Draugr Death Overlord. Once he is defeated and the boss chest looted, we then exit to the top of the mountain, where the dragon priest Volsung only appears after we learn the word of Whirlwind Sprint from the wall.

Volsung goes down like a chump, as we stun-lock him against his own sarcophagus with dual-casted Thunderbolts. Just like that we have another soul and another dragon priest mask to add to our collection back home. Before going home, though, we need to find a dragon for the sake of the quest. We beam off to nearby Eldersblood Peak where we know one will be waiting for us, and after some quick work we have a dead dragon to collect Tolfdir's scale from. Note that we switch from Thunderbolt to Incinerate to finish him off, as I wasn't sure if disintegrating him with a shock spell would interfere with collecting the scale. In all likelihood it doesn't, but I wasn't in the mood to reload if it did.

With that we head back to Whiterun for a major sort n' sell of the extensive loot we've collected. We're ready to turn in the quest to Tolfdir now, but we have one other task to complete before we get to that.
