Slay the Spire Mods - The Hermit is a top-tier class!
184The Hermit is seriously one of the most polished and well made modded characters for Slay the Spire, featuring full animations and amazing artwork. It’s based on a character from the creator’s indie game: Monolith, which is a cool little roguelite.

His Starting relic, Memento, will shuffle a regret into your draw pile every combat, but make curses unable to damage you. This whole self-cursing and self-debuffing theme is common in a lot of the cards you’ll see, like Covet, one of your basic starting cards that will exhaust a card to draw a card, drawing 2 if you exhaust the curse.
Snapshot is the other basic starting card, a 2 cost attack that deals 12 damage, but if it’s in the middle of your hand, it’ll cost 0.
There are more dead-on effects like this, like Dive that gives you block and some extra plated armour if in the middle.
Another huge archetype for the Hermit is in Strikes and defends, whether upgrading them multiple times with a card like maintenance, or playing all of the strikes in your hand with showdown.
On top of all these cool cards comes some cool relics, like charred glove giving your next attack damage for every curse drawn and Clasped Locket making damaging curses heal you instead.
If you’re looking for a class mod to try out, I highly recommend this one, it’s really well made.
