SM64 - Free Flying for 8 Red Coins (Without Extra Tornadoes) - 0x A Presses
372I collect the star Free Flying for 8 Red Coins in Shifting Sand Land using 0 A presses, without making use of the extra tornadoes that appear in stars 4 through 6 of SSL.
It was beneficial to show that this could be done without the using extra tornadoes, because the extra tornado version of SSL isn't available until you collect the first 3 stars of SSL. Among these first 3 stars is the star Inside the Ancient Pyramid, which requires 1 A press. Thus, showing that this star doesn't require the extra tornadoes eliminates the dependency between these two stars.
To further clarify why this is important, imagine if in an Any% ABC Run, 69 stars were able to be collected using 9 A presses, and all 0x A Press stars (besides this one) were included in that. If the star Free Flying for 8 Red Coins were still dependent on Inside the Ancient Pyramid, it would take an additional A press to reach 70 stars (since this star wouldn't be possible in 0 A presses without first doing the other star). However, since these stars are not dependent, we could collect just this star without needing Inside the Ancient Pyramid, thereby accumulating 70 stars without adding another A press.
