Happy Halloween! Did you go trick or treating? Or was there a local fireworks display? We here at Head Squeeze decided to do things a bit different and blow up a few pumpkins!

Using a demo made famous by the awesome Steve Spangler we used calcium carbide to blow up a few pumpkins.

When you add water to calcium carbide it gives off the gas acetylene. Acetylene is a highly flammable and powerful gas. In the days of yore when James May was young it was used in the mines. And today, well, we used it to blow up some pumpkins!
