In this Sci Guide, Martin Archer is looking at what, if anything can be 250k times hotter than the sun.

The Sun is burning at about 15 million degrees Celsius. In 2012 a temperature 250,000 times larger than that of the Sun's core was achieved in the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Lab in the US. http://www.bnl.gov/rhic/physics.asp

However the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider doesn't hold the trophy for reaching the highest temperature. That goes to the Large Hadron Collider at CERN which recorded reaching 5.5 trillion degrees by colliding lead atoms together!
