Well, I managed to do this tool-less with just a green Yoshi. Also, even with just a green Yoshi, I probably could've cheesed most of the level by eating a blue or rainbow shell and flying over it, so I decided to ban flying. I'll still eat those shells, mainly to get them out of my way or fry something else, but I won't fly with them.
Also, I find a way to use the sprite limits to my advantage in the middle of the level, in the stretch before the fish generator (too bad I couldn't prevent the fish generator from activating).
After that, I use Yoshi jumps to clear those otherwise nearly-impossible jumps that have Yoshi coins in hard-to-avoid places, and at the end, I decided to try and see if it would be possible to keep Yoshi, and it was! Not only that, but I don't think I could've finished the level any more "Awesome"-ly!!!
