18Remember... it's just a game.
Having to redo the whole level if you die is a bad idea, and not to mention spending time to redo a huge chunk of the level kills the scary vibe and just becomes annoying, even more so because it's not like Wakana would be incapable of inserting multiple midpoints. Great horror hack in terms of presentation though.
