After browsing through an archive of very old SMW hacks, I found this one that was made by the same guy who made that ground-breaking Exodus to Death demo, so I had to check it out.
Turns out while it's still extremely advanced for its time, it had some design flaws. Plus loading times between sublevels were noticeably longer than usual. Strange thing is that this hadn't really happened in a hack up to this point.
I also wasn't sure if the hack was only 3 levels long, so I'll have to check back on it when I've got an answer.
