I think this level gambled too much on the visual effects activated by the p-switches and on/off blocks. They're definitely neat effects, but I think the level would have played better if more attention were devoted to the layout and construction. Some of the platforming takes place in cramped areas with awkward jumps, and I feel like the swoopers interrupt the flow too much because they could be hiding pretty much anywhere.
Also, I was hoping for the p-switch concept to translate into gameplay elements, but it's essentially all visual. The level's slippery setting doesn't change; lava doesn't freeze; ice doesn't melt. Instead, what we seem to get is some conventional underground platforming that's fairly disjointed from the atmosphere- in my opinion, at least.
