Illbleed (イ\ルブリード) is a Survival-Horror video game developed and published by Crazy Games (formerly known as Climax Graphics) in Japan (but published by AIA in the US) for the Sega Dreamcast. It was released in Japan on March 29, 2001 and later in North America on April 16, 2001. Despite being financially unsuccessful, this game received a worldwide cult following for its notable combination of nonlinear gameplay elements (e.g. trap detection) and bizarre B-movie style comedy horror theme, dialogue and voice acting.

Illbleed with be 20 years old on March 29 as that's the release date for in Japan, or April 16 for the United States. Those with a keen sense of hearing might recognize a handful of familiar voices, as a decent chunk of the case did/would go onto doing the voices for Sonic the Hedgehog.

The only other game that Crazy Games published which was Blue Stinger back in 1999 (which I have an itch to play after Illbleed). AIA's other published include Dokapon: Monster Hunter for the GBA in 2003 and the latest being Monster! Bass Fishing for the GBA in 2004 and both according to my research are both defunct.

Illbleed doesn't focus much on combat vs other games of this genre, such as Resident Evil, however more on the finding and neutralizing traps and finding items to help survive. Not all fights are winnable or even required, as you can escape using the ladder if you mash the B button enough, (having the speed ladder helps). The game got an average 6ish review which nowadays means the game is garbage (since it isn't a 9), but back then, the game was a solid addition to those who enjoy horror (B-horror specifically), and exploration. This game also has multiple endings and requires multiple play-throughs to do such.

Decided to give Michel a spin, not literally, but each character that you can play have different stats and while you can upgrade each character using the stat boosters, having someone with more stamina might be better than someone with adrenaline. Plus her design is cute, her hair shade of green is nice to look at. Like I posted in the last videos description, each character has different dialogue/interactions in each level.

A lot more combat focused this time around. Forgot that the R button is an alt attack and it's not just one button to attack, in this case the Y button. Along with the "PIN" puzzle, it's different if you are playing the Japanese version vs English, but it's apparently how much wood times the price so in this case its 3221 times 3 to be 9663.

It's also possible to save Randy without his brain and you get, for the rest of the game, a more dumb version of Randy, which is a nice touch of consistency where you have a choice of taking his brain and restoring him to his usual self, or conveniently forgetting it and dooming Randy to a literal dunce.

If your character dies during the level, you will restart the level entirely from the beginning with another character. Afterwards, once you beat it you can pay to revive them. Since I'm not planning on ironmanning this, I'll reload if a fail/die to save time, but that's what happens.
