SNES - Nintendo Switch Online Part 24: Magical Drop2
0We have received an update for Nintendo Switch Online which has added 5 new titles, 4 of them are SNES games, and only one is an NES game. For the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, we get Super Baseball Simulator 1.000, Caveman Ninja (also known as Joe & Mac), Magical Drop2, and Spanky's Quest, and the Special Edition game is Super Mario Kart. The only Nintendo Entertainment System game is Ninja JaJaMaru-kun, so we get some games that was only released in Japan, and in Japan only, we get Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War for SNES, and I have seen rumors that it might get a remake soon.
The game I chose for this video is Magical Drop2, which is a game from the Magical Drop series, or MagiDrop, which I have never heard of until now, from the information, this game released in 1996 in Japan, and the developer of this game is Data East, and it was never released outside of Japan, even though this version is translated to English.
This is a puzzle game where you have four different modes, two of them are like practice modes, and there is a story mode where you play as 10 different characters. What this game is about is catching the bubbles that come down and throw them to match a vertical line of up to three of the same colour, and this will clear most of the connected bubbles.
This game was ported on other systems, like the Sega Saturn and Neo Geo CD, and the Neo Geo version was released on the Nintendo Switch in 2017, and now we got the English localization of the Super Famicom version as part of Nintendo Switch Online.
