SNES - Tetris Attack - VS Mode Speedrun (Normal x5) - 15:38 IGT (34:22 RTA)
1A speedrun of 5 consecutive Normal difficulty runs in preparation for the upcoming Tetris Attack speedrun tournament.
Moving on to the next difficulty up for more practice and training to get better and more consistent at this game. Normal in this game is quite a bit better to speedrun than Easy. The AI is slightly faster than on Easy difficulty, but still pretty slow overall. But also with the overall speed of the game a fair bit quicker, we can get more consistently faster stages than we could on Easy. Even if the AI clears your garbage once, you can still get under 20 seconds for that stage.
Despite having to play 5 total stages more than in the Easy x5 run, this run beats the total in-game time by 12 seconds, which goes to show you how much more consistent you can be on Normal difficulty over Easy. Under 34 minutes real time is possible, just need slightly better luck and to clean up a few mishaps. Enjoy!
