There are very few, if any, Single-Player Gaming Experiences that have absorbed more of my time than The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Growing up, I hadn't really owned any console for a number of years so my experiences with gaming were acquired primarily through watching others.
About 95% of that was through YouTube sure, but those rare times where I did watch someone else play stuck with me more prominently.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion was one of those games.
While I probably only remember about 1% of the things I saw, the things I do remember have just kinda always stuck with me in the back of my mind.

In fact, I only can recall two things that happened while I observed.
The first thing that I remember was this like, giant red portal in the middle of a grassy field, which is what led to me discovering that the game I watched years ago was in fact Oblivion.
The other thing I remember is my friend picked up a fork from a table that caused the entire city to attack him simultaneously, which if anything just straight-up proves it was a Bethesda game.

The gap between watching that footage and finally getting Skyrim for my Xbox 360 was, at the very least, about 8 years.
As with most games that required the bare minimum gaming intelligence to understand, I picked the game up and stopped playing after like a day, which funnily enough is also what I did with New Vegas.
But after a few months I picked it back up and finally played through it.

From then on, Skyrim fell into a strange limbo, the same way Borderlands 2 did.
What I mean by that, is that I would always play hundreds of hours on it for like a month, then break for a few more months, before plunging back in with hundreds of hours again.
It's a game that no matter how many times you play through it and experience the same things for thousands of hours, there's something satisfying about just, like, doing it all over again.

So on the backbone of Forks and Skyrim, I decided to FINALLY give Oblivion a try.
And, to be completely honest, I'm a little upset...
...that I never played this sooner because so far it's phenomenal! ^^
