What is Hiragana?
-the more cursive and more widely used form of kana (syllabic writing) used in Japanese, especially used for function words and inflections.
What does hiragana mean in Japanese?
It is a phonetic lettering system. The word hiragana means "common" or "plain" kana (originally also "easy", as contrasted with kanji). Hiragana and katakana are both kana systems. With few exceptions, each mora in the Japanese language is represented by one character (or one digraph) in each system.

What is onyomi and kunyomi?
In Japanese, On'yomi (音読み) refers to readings of kanji characters that are derived from their original Chinese pronunciation. Kunyomi (訓読み), on the other hand, are the native Japanese pronunciations of those same kanji. On'yomi is generally used in compound words and technical terms, while Kunyomi is used for simple, singular words, including most verbs.
