A few notes on powering your bases/stations in Solargene with Solar Power and Batteries. In general you will need to generate twice as many kilowatt hours (kWh) as you consume per hour to be reliant on Solar, and you will need enough battery storage to survive the night which can vary greatly depending on where you build. For instance my current Moon Base has a long day/night cycle of about 13 days between day and night. While my current Mars base has a 13 hour cycle. So a 40,000 kWh base on the moon will need ~320 small Solar Panels and enough battery storage for 40,000 x 24 x 13 = 12,480,000 kWh or at 41,000 kWh that means you will need 305 small batteries. On the other hand the same base on Mars would need ~800 small Solar Panels so a little over twice as many panels, but only enough battery storage for 40,000 x 13 = 520,000 kWh or 13 small batteries. A couple of final notes on power with the right research unlocks you can make Fusion Reactor Fuel on the Moon and Nuclear Fuel on Mars or the Moon, but it's easier on Mars because of resource desenity/make-up. Then there are the upgraded solar panels and batteries both of which produce or store about 20x their lower entry level tech counter parts.
