Soldering pin headers on Raspberry Pi Pico
5I soldered the pin headers on the Raspberry Pi Pico
2x 20 pin headers on the bottom of board (if they are on the bottom are they footers)
3 pin uart pin header on top.
Some things i did not say or express in the video (either because I was concentrating on soldering or because I muted the mic)
If anyone has suggestions for improving my soldering skills, please let me know. I hope to practice more and that should help.
While editing the video I realized I came very close to some of the components, so I just ran a quick test with micropython and the led blinks. We will find out in future videos if I damaged anything.
I did test the continuity of each pin and there was continuity through the breadboard.
I attempted to test to see if there was any continuity with adjacent pins, but with editing I realized I did not verify every pin.
Pin 28 may need more solder. I will keep an eye on it and fix it off camera if need be.
Note: any mention of the temperature of the soldering iron is in degrees Celsius. Air temperature is in degrees Fahrenheit.
I eluded in the video that the pin headers failed ( moved) because of the quality of the pin headers, but the most likely reason was my flawed soldering technique.
After uploading the video, I started setting up for the next video, and discovered pin 38 is indeed not soldered well. this pin is a ground(gnd) so I will be using other ground pins until i get to fixing it.
And sorry for the audio, I thought i had fixed it.
