5The Solstice Event has now started and there are some new features coming to Pokémon GO!

The Solstice event is starting today at 8am and lasting until June 24th at 10pm local time. I’ve covered it in a previous video but I’ll go over it again here.
The features include:
Pokémon associated with the sun and moon, such as Clefairy and Sunkern, will be appearing more often in the wild, hatching from 5km Eggs, appearing after completing event-exclusive Field Research tasks and appearing in raids.
If you’re lucky you may encounter a Shiny Clefairy.
Throughout the event, Lunatone and Solrock will be appearing in 3-star raids and hatching from 5km Eggs, regardless of your location.
Lunatone and Solrock will be appearing in the wild in different regions.
From June 19th at 8am to June 20th at 11:59pm local time, Lunatone will appear frequently in the eastern hemisphere and Solrock in the western hemisphere.
From June 21st at 12am to June 22nd at 11:59pm local time, Lunatone and Solrock will be appearing more often in the wild everywhere.
From June 23rd at 12am to June 24th at 10pm local time, Lunatone and Solrock will be swapping hemispheres. Lunatone will be appearing more often in the wild in the western hemisphere and Solrock in the eastern hemisphere
Once the event is over, Lunatone will stay in the western hemisphere and Solrock will stay in the eastern hemisphere.
The bonus for this event is 2x Catch Stardust.
There are also some new features coming to Pokemon GO soon, daily guaranteed Pokémon encounters and Daily Free Boxes. They are going to be tested soon.
A limited group of Trainers will soon get a special visit from Professor Willow! If you’re part of this test, he will tell you that he’s been working on a special kind of Incense. This Incense won’t appear in your Item Bag, but it’ll be active after he gives it to you, attracting a Pokémon once a day that will appear only for you.
And then as for the Free Boxes, soon a small number of Trainers will be able to receive a free box of items daily in the shop! If you’re part of this test, the Shop button will display a notification when a Daily Free Box is available. To get your Daily Free Box, simply go to the shop and claim the box in the Free section. The box will contain different items each time, so be sure to claim your Daily Free Box everyday to see what items you get!
