4th Anniversary, Weekly Challenges, GO Fest, Summer, Ho-Oh, Battle & More! | Pokémon GO News #70
3In celebration of Pokémon GOs fourth anniversary, there is going to be an exciting summer of Pokemon GO events leading up to GO Fest 2020. All Trainers globally will be able to take part in three weekly challenges in the form of Timed Research lines.
WEEK 1
The first week is from July 3rd at 8am to July 8th at 10pm local time, and is focused on skill. It will coincide with Pokémon GOs fourth anniversary celebration too.
Complete all three sets of tasks in the Skill Research to earn an encounter with Ducklett, an encounter with Flying Pikachu, a Star Piece and more!
If one million Team Instinct Trainers complete the research, Chimecho will appear during GO Fest.
If one million Team Mystic Trainers complete the research, Alomamola will appear during GO Fest.
And if one million Team Valor Trainers complete the research, Chansey will appear during GO Fest.
If you complete the Skill Research you’ll earn access to the Elite Skill Research.
The fourth-anniversary event features include:
Flying-type Pokémon and Pokemon wearing hats will be appearing in the wild, hatching from eggs and appearing in raids. If you’re lucky you may encounter a Shiny Pidove.
Ducklett will be making its Pokemon GO debut, appearing in the wild and hatching from 5km eggs.
Flying Pikachu will be appearing in the wild and in raids and the shiny will be available.
The Jump-Start Special Research will also be available this week for any trainers who missed out on it last year.
Be sure to take a snapshot during this event for a surprise.
Ho-Oh will also be joining in on the festivities, with Ho-Oh Special Raid Weekend taking place from July 3rd at 8am to July 6th at 10pm local time.
WEEK 2
The second week is from July 10th at 8am to July 15th at 10pm local time, and will test your battle skills.
Complete all three sets of tasks in the Battle Research to earn an encounter with Hitmonlee, Absol, a Super Rocket Radar and more!
If one million Team Instinct Trainers complete the research, Ferroseed will appear during GO Fest.
If one million Team Mystic Trainers complete the research, Alolan Grimer will appear during GO Fest.
And if one million Team Valor Trainers complete the research, Alolan Marowak will appear during GO Fest.
If you complete the Battle Research you’ll earn access to the Elite Battle Research.
There is also a battle themed event on July 12th from 11am to 2pm local time.
WEEK 3
Week 3 is focused on friendship and is occurring from July 17th at 8am to July 22nd at 10pm local time.
Complete all three sets of tasks in the Friendship Research to earn an encounter with Alolan Raichu, Petilil, a Lucky Egg and more.
If one million Team Instinct Trainers complete the research, Togetic will appear during GO Fest.
If one million Team Mystic Trainers complete the research, Dratini will appear during GO Fest.
And if one million Team Valor Trainers complete the research, Litwick will appear during GO Fest.
If you complete the Friendship Research you’ll earn access to the Elite Friendship Research.
There is also a summer themed event, with the following features:
Summer-themed Pokemon will be appearing in the wild, hatching from Eggs and appearing in raids. If you’re lucky you may encounter a Shiny Bellsprout.
Petilil will be making its Pokémon GO debut, appearing in the wild when the weather is sunny and hatching from 5km Eggs.
Summer Style Pikachu will also be appearing in the wild.
