June Events - Zekrom, Throwback, Solstice, Bug-Out, Spotlights & New Research! | Pokémon GO News #60
Several events have been announced for June in Pokémon GO.
00:00 - Intro
00:14 - June Research Breakthrough
00:22 - Zekrom
00:36 - Throwback Challenge 2020
01:40 - Solstice & Bug Out
02:00 - Spotlight Hours
1. June Research Breakthrough
Trapinch has been revealed as June’s Research Breakthrough encounter. It will be available from June 1st to July 1st at 1pm PDT.
2. Zekrom
Zekrom will be available in five-star raids starting June 16th at 1pm PDT. There will be Raid Hour events featuring Zekrom on June 17th, 24th and July 1st from 6pm to 7pm local time.
3. Throwback Challenge 2020
If you completed all 4 research lines of the Throwback Research, Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh, you have earned access to the Champion Research. Completing all four sets of tasks in this research will earn you five Rare Candies, encounters with Genesect, Galarian Meowth and Stunfisk, and Professor Willow’s glasses as an exclusive avatar item.
If you didn’t complete all 4 research lines, you can purchase a ticket for the Celebration Research, which will grant you the same rewards as the Champion Research. You can still buy this ticket even if you have unlocked the Champion Research, but instead of reward encounters you’ll earn 10 Candies for that Pokémon and instead of Professor Willow’s glasses you’ll receive stardust.
There is an event taking place for all trainers during this same time period too. Galarian Stunfisk will be available in the wild and in raids. Galarian Meowth, Zigzagoon, Darumaka and Stunfisk will be hatching from 7km Eggs along with their usual forms. Pokémon originally discovered in the Unova region will be appearing more frequently in the wild.
4. Solstice Event + Bug Out
There aren’t any details on them yet, but the solstice event and Bug Out event are returning to Pokémon GO.
The solstice-themed event will run from June 19th at 8am to June 24th at 10pm. The Bug Out event will run from June 26th at 8am to July 1st at 10pm.
All of those times are in your local time.
5. Pokémon Spotlight Hours
And finally June will have Spotlight Hours at 6pm local time on every Tuesday except June 2nd.
The first of these is on June 9th with Patrat in the spotlight and twice the XP for evolving Pokémon.
The second is on June 16th with Numel in the spotlight and twice the stardust for catching Pokémon.
The third is on June 23rd with Clefairy in the spotlight and twice the XP for catching Pokémon. If you’re lucky you may encounter the Shiny.
The fourth and final is on June 30th with Kricketot in the spotlight and twice the candy for catching Pokémon.
