This was the result of an 'Auto Duel' where you let the AI play an entire duel for you from the opponent select screen. For whatever reason, the AI, AKA Kaiba decides his solid wall of defense is looking like a badass to the point he thinks he can take on the same monsters attacking him, yet fails to realise that 800atk points isn't enough to beat a monster with 1500atk. Go figure.

The AI Fails to do basic maths, especially considering the opponent had no traps waiting, and had no helpful traps at its disposal to reinforce their own attack. And then at the end, Mirror Force? Really? Again, maths! They're taking you out and you are pretty much at their full mercy or whatever.
