Somos Humanos...
5This hurt my heart to write.
It hurt to say.
The first draft and the final product aren't much different.
"Human"
Yo soy Hondureño.
Yo soy Americano.
Pero soy humano.
Sometimes, I worry that this world spends so much time focusing on where someone is from and what
that might represent and while yeah that probably does play a factor in certain things, I think
the one main thing we have to remember is that...
...we are human.
In the end, we are human. And when we start forgetting that and start subdividing the "types" of
human we are and start thinking some are lesser than others for whatever fucked up reason, then we
are going to spiral down a dark path that will lead to the end of human.
And I know we're better than that.
We've got our differences and we've got things that make us the same.
We've got one whole world together, and honestly, instead of fighting over what makes us different,
why aren't we figuring out how to use our differences to empower the similarities between us?
Why do we spend so much time fighting and hurting each other when it would be in all of our interests
to work together, come together, and make something wonderful?
Maybe I'm asking for too much this time.
